Designing products and services is relatively easy in comparison with actually putting them on the global market and make them successful and profitable due to a good business plan. DBP is about combining the two to come to good designs. There are certain tools, for example the business canvas mode or a stakeholder map which can help you in this process.

After I followed the assignment Corporate Entrepreneurship and Design (DG516) to learn all about business model design in B1.1 I didn’t do much to develop this competency, because I felt that other companies needed more attention. I only once made a small business canvas model with my project to get a good overview thus a better understanding of our concept before we proceeded in our design process.

DBP is also a competency I want to develop again next semester. I want to combine this actually a little bit with SCA by learning more about design for international markets, because after all you need a very good understating of different cultures (market/user) to come up with concepts which there also will be popular and accepted.
